Vintage Board Games For Sale

During the 1960s and 1970s many families were doing the same thing on any given night. Perhaps if it was a Saturday night - Dad would bring home pizza, burgers or maybe some fried chicken. Everyone would gather round the television, each member sitting behind their own TV tray - and watch Carol Burnett and then All in the Family.

Then after that - a quick tidy up in the kitchen and here come the board games. Usually each family had a board game closet, shelf or stack somewhere in reaching distance where - at the drop of a hat - you could be trying to sink your sister's battleship or send your Dad to the poor house as you collected his last dollars for rent on old Boardwalk Avenue.

Those were the days - And these were the games we played. Check them out below. Now you and your own family can start a tradition with the very same games.

Don't forget the food!

Vintage Comics

Growing up, I would spend time at my Grandmother's house for a few summer weeks. The highlight of each week was when she would give me a couple of bucks for and I would walk down to the corner grocer and gaze at the comic books. I was mesmerized by the colors and the action calling out tom me on the cover of each edition. I was partial to the Superman series and the Jimmy Olsen series.

With a couple of comics, ice cream and maybe some candy - I would trek back up the hill with my treasure.

I am proud to say that I have each and every one of these comic books. To this day I can flip throw these classics and remember those lazy days spent vacationing with my family.

Selling Your Vintage Dolls

Ask any "grown up" kid and you will learn that antique dolls are fantastic items to collect. They're charming and and can be fairly stunning in their beauty and they serve to draw out the kid in you. Nevertheless, antique dolls could be just a little confusing. You might discover a truly attractive item that is pleasing to the eye but is practically worthless. You might also discover an otherwise worthless looking doll that's somehow worth a king's ransom.

Arriving at the value of antique dolls is rather complicated. You will find particular designs made by particular businesses that take in a fairly large sum although other models aren't worth much at all. I discovered this finding by a fortunate accident when I attempted to sell some old toys long forgotten that had been in my attic gathering dust.

Luckily, I have a close friend who is a reputable, avid doll collector. She instantly grabbed one of the vintage barbies and said that I needed to take the piece out of the yard sale that instant. She almost passed out from shock when she saw that I was trying to sell the item for much less than a buck.

After the yard sale, she took the time to tell me that this unsuspecting doll was actually worth a couple of hundred dollars. What?!? I had no concept that any vintage doll could yield that kind of cash. As it turns out, numerous antique dolls are extremely rare and extremely appealing among collectors and enthusiasts.

These desirable antique dolls are quite deceptive, though. Actually, I had the idea of just throwing the item in the garbage but I figured that somebody would want to pay a few quarters for it. Perhaps some individual who liked extremely old looking vintage things would be at the sale, I figured. There was clearly no chance that I would price this doll over a dollar but as it ended up, she was worth much more than I had ever dreamed.

Naturally, I sold the vintage doll to my friend and was more than thrilled to allow the new owner to revel in her new purchase. She is actually a collector that has a number of different types of vintage toys in her inventory. Ironically, she doesn’t collect dolls in particular. This puzzled me at first but it also make me aware how valuable some antique collectibles truly are.

Aside from my good friend, I had no other means of understanding if - and when - I stumbled on an additional valuable discover again. I made the decision to study whatever guides are out there to assist me in deciding which vintage or antique dolls are worth some money and which aren't. I discovered a small handful of choices at my disposal.

The local book store is really a great study facility but it can always be pretty pricey particularly if the book doesn’t contain enough information and facts about the particular antique dolls you're seeking. These days the library is a hit-and-miss proposition, too, and is also very time-consuming.

Your best bet for for discovering antique doll prices is the internet. Searching the web turned out to be the very best resource for rapidly figuring out which antique dolls and toys are valuable and which aren't.

Once you determine the value of your doll - you are also able to sell your collectibles on line as well, when you are ready. Of course, once you do discover an item worth a bit of value - you very well may want to keep that new found diamond in the rough for yourself.
